Micol Somajni

Hello and welcome to my website!

My name is Micol Somajni and I am a high school student who decided to dive into a project to bring people to embark in a journey towards awareness and well-being. The past school years I’ve dealt a lot with anxiety and high stress levels, I didn’t go out a lot and I would spend nights studying rather than caring for myself and resting. This year, I decided that I wanted to end this vicious cycle of centering my time only on studies and moved into a better environment, I changed schools. Since then, I’ve had more time for myself and discovered new hobbies and interests, new ways to express my creativity and new perspectives on what truly makes me happy. It has been a journey of self-discovery and I decided to show the little steps I took to help the people that used to feel the way I did (reason why my website is called “The Little Steps you CAN Take”). However, in order to help them, I can’t just show what I’ve done because everyone addresses and processes things differently. This is what inspired me to study and understand more about how stress affects people, and how to make them feel calmer and more comfortable in their own body and mind through a wide variety of resources. As a daughter of two neuropsychiatrists and yoga and mindfulness instructors, I also grew up learning how to use mindfulness, receiving its teachings every day. However, I knew that, to overpass my struggles, I had to find further ways to prosper my knowledge on the topic and to support me during that time. Therefore, in the works of this resource, I have spent hours working and gathering information from experts to put myself into their perspectives and observe their ways of working with people in distress. I hope whoever is reading this is able to see the steps as a possibility to find peace in their lives. This doesn’t mean never feeling stressed or down, but having the strength and ability to find acceptance and acknowledging every present moment. Ultimately, my goal is to bring more positivity in today’s society and to impact lives.
